Homemade Chili Dogs

Ingredients

  • Hot Dog Buns
  • Your Favorite Hot Dogs
  • Honey Mustard
  • Ruffle chips
  • 1 Yellow Onion julienned
  • Monterey Jack shredded

Chili

  • 1.25 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • ½ tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 2 tsp. cumin
  • ½ tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 can Fire Roasted Rotel
  • 1 can 8oz. Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • cup water
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ½ tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • In a large pot or dutch oven brown ground beef. Drain and add pack to pot then Add seasonings, sugar, worcestershire water, and rotel. Bring to a boil. Stir in ketchup and tomato sauce, reduce heat to medium-low, cover and let simmer for 15 minutes.
  • While chili simmers, butterfly hot dogs and sear meat side down on high heat and flip once charred. Cook on the other side for about 3 minutes. Add onions to the same oiled skillet on medium heat. Saute for 10 minutes until caramelized.
  • Build a Hot Dog in order of bun, hot dog, mustard, onions, chili, cheese, and crushed ruffle chips.
