Hot Honey Chicken Sliders

Ingredients

Sauce

  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce such as Louisiana
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Chicken

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3 tbsp hot honey sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Seasoned Flour

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, bring sauce ingredients to a slight boil. Remove from heat and let cool completely
  • Cut chicken thighs in half
  • In a large bowl or ziplock bag add chicken pieces, hot honey sauce, buttermilk, and seasoning. Mix until everything is thoroughly combined and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Toast slider buns with butter and prepare a large dutch oven with 2 inches of frying oil.
  • Mix together ingredients for seasoned flour.
  • Take chicken pieces, being careful to shake off excessive buttermilk, dredge in flour, and drop in heated oil until cooked through, crispy, and golden brown. Drain on paper towel lined tray
  • Toss while hot in remaining sauce, and build sliders with ranch and pickles
